I was in an open-air carpark. For some strange reason, there was a huge queue towards the exit of the carpark, and I was stuck in the midst of it all. Not wanting to waste my time, I turned right into a one-way lane, driving in the wrong direction.

A van approached from the front, driving very fast in the right direction, and the driver flashed his lights at me. He was expecting me to give way. I couldn't, because of the heavy traffic behind me. So I just kept as close to the left as possible, making way for him to pass through. He gestured animatedly at me for a minute or so before he saw that I wasn't going to back up for him. So he manoeuvred the van slowly past me.

On his way past, he stopped right next to me, rolled down his window and signalled for me to do the same. Bewildered, I followed his instruction.

Him: "Madam! This is a one-way road! What do you think you're doing? I only scared you get stopped by police only you know! There's traffic police outside you know! You want them to catch you is it?!"

Disgusted, I simply rolled up my car window and drove off. To give him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps there really were traffice police around a corner nearby. But, body language and tone of voice overrode any good intentions he had there.

Thought of the day: To be driven around is better than driving myself around anytime.
